About the Position

Fairhaven is seeking a Temporary Operations Manager to support the Dean, faculty, and staff of Fairhaven College of Interdisciplinary Studies and the American Cultural Studies Program. This position is central to the functioning of the College and the Operations Manager works independently within general guidelines to manage its resources and ongoing activities; provides information, analyses, counsel, and recommendations on problems and opportunities; and acts as a liaison with other University administrative offices.We are specifically looking for someone to generate contracts, process payroll, make and review purchases and run budget reports via Banner or Millennium FAST.

This is a temporary position. Tentatively this position will run from October 1st to January 15th 2020.   

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least three years professional experience involving fiscal accounting and budgeting in a higher education or business setting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contracting processes
  • Demonstrated knowledge of human resources and management
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Outlook, Excel spreadsheets, and financial information systems software
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment under limited supervision
  • Experience interpreting and implementing institutional or business policies and ensuring compliance
  • Demonstrated ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong writing and interpersonal communication skills, including experience handling sensitive and confidential matters.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in business related field or equivalent education/experience
  • At least one year of supervisory experience
  • Experience in fiscal accounting at a university or college
  • Demonstrated experience with Banner Information Systems or similar information systems
  • Demonstrated experience with Millennium business software or similar business software
  • Experience with labor relations and labor unions
Salary Salary range starts at $4583 per month, commensurate with experience.
