About the Position

As our Payroll Administrator you will administer the daily operations of Payroll Services, including ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations; providing technical expertise, information and assistance in all matters related to assigned areas. The Payroll Administrator maintains strong communication with the Senior HR Analytics Manager and works collaboratively with other HR units.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing audit and approval function for all payroll transactions
  • Managing HR leave processes
  • Overseeing electronic timesheet processes and resolving time reporting issues as needed
  • Providing technical expertise, information and assistance in all matters related to payroll
  •  Administering payroll tax-related items
  • Administering state and federally-mandated reports to ensure compliance and timely reporting such as 941s, unemployment, LNI and Paid Family & Medical Leave
  • Administer the daily operations of Payroll Services
  • Performing related duties and responsibilities as required 
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and education
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a fiscal-related field such as payroll, accounting, budget or similar field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with payroll software, HR data warehouse system, or fiscal-related software
  • Proficient skills in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds as a member of an inclusive team
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance or Human Resources
  • Experience using HR module in the Ellucian/Banner ERP system
  • Experience using Millennium FAST data warehouse
  • Experience working in Higher Education
Salary $57,600 - $73,600
