About the Position

The Head Athletic Trainer supervises the Athletic Training Service, having responsibility for the organization, administration and clinical activity of that service on a daily basis in accordance with existing policy and procedure. The general duties include all functions traditionally associated with service as a certified athletic trainer plus additional administrative and supervisory responsibilities including management of: records, personnel, policies, procedures, supplies, equipment and spaces as they relate to the Athletic Training Service and the facilities in which those services are delivered.

Typical duties include:

  • Provides on-site injury care to participants in assigned activity during practice sessions and competition.
  • Administers treatment procedures and rehabilitation programs for injury or disability to team members under their jurisdiction.
  • Promote safety, injury prevention, and healthy living to those eligible student-athletes.

Required Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Athletic Training or related field
  • NATA/BOC Certification
  • CPR Certification
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to effectively working with faculty, staff and student athletes of diverse social identities and backgrounds
Special Requirements/Conditions of employment
  • Eligible for licensure in the State of Washington
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in delivering athletic training services to college athletes
  • Knowledge of and experience in applying current standards of Athletic Training Room operation
  • Administrative and supervisory experience in athletic training.
