About the Position

As our Communications Coordinator, you will help in the development and deployment of direct marketing and communication initiatives in support of University enrollment initiatives.  You will use the Constituents Relationship Management System (CRM) to deliver segmented communications to prospective students, parents, school counselors, community college representatives and other key audiences via web, email, print, text message, and social media.

You will also use Project Management (PM) tools and principles in order to manage a wide range of projects and their corresponding deliverables; will manage Admissions' social media editorial calendar and student employees; and will assist in the collection and reporting of data to support enrollment strategies and efforts.

You will report to the Assistant Director of Admissions for Communications and Marketing, and participate in regularly scheduled meetings with the other members of the Admissions Communications Team.

The State HR classification for this position is Communications Consultant 2.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, business, journalism, or another relevant field
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a professional setting coordinating complex communications plans and executing communications projects
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills that include professional and effective communication and relationship building
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated strong project management and organizational skills, with keen attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize projects, take initiate, work under pressure, manage multiple deadlines and adjust as priorities change
Preferred Qualifications
  • Fluency in English and one additional language (e.g. Spanish, Mandarin, Vietnamese, etc.)
  • Experience with a CRM system
  • Familiarity with concepts and principles of Agile Project Management
  • Knowledge of the Admissions funnel
  • Background working with relational databases (e.g. Access) and query language
  • Familiarity with front-end development technologies, such as HTML and CSS
Salary New hires typically start at $3871/month including an excellent benefits package
Bargaining Unit This position is part of bargaining unit PTE and is covered by the collective bargaining agreement within the Public School Employees of WWU.
