About the Position

As our Senior Systems Analyst, you will independently lead, manage, coordinate, and provide technical support for several enterprise software applications used at Western Washington University.  The applications, many of this mission-critical, may be SaaS (Software as a Service, living in the cloud) or hosted on campus.  Ellucian's Banner running on the Oracle platform is the primary application, with document management, data warehouses and reporting other significant applications.  You will report to an Assistant Director within the Enterprise Application Services department of ITS and will partner with other IT staff and functional end users across campus to provide analysis, development, maintenance and integration of enterprise software applications.

This is a project-employment position ending December 2020.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field plus four (4) years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above
  • Strong programming knowledge of modern object oriented languages (e.g. Java, C++, .NET)
  • Strong programming knowledge of PL/SQL or T-SQL
  • Strong knowledge of the database environments and tools
  • Working knowledge of Javascript
  • Working knowledge of Unix OS and scripting
  • Three (3) years of experience developing, managing, maintaining and upgrading software systems
  • Three (3) years of experience in technical or process analysis
  • Two (2) years of experience supporting functional end users
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with one or more of the following: PL/SQL, SQL Server, Javascript, Oracle Tools, Groovy/Grails, C, .NET, Angular
  • Experience with Ellucian Banner; experience in a higher education insitution
  • Experience writing technical documentation
  • Curiosity, creativity, flexibility
Salary Commensurate with experience and qualifications
