About the Position

As our Head Softball Coach, you will be responsible for the overall direction of the Softball Program at WWU.  This includes overseeing, instruction and supervising approximately 20 - 25 softball players who are student-athletes at WWU.  

Your responsibilities will include directing and advising student athletes, coaching both during practices and games, developing practice plans and game plans.  Other responsibilities include recruitment, fundraising and administrative responsibilities for the program.

This position is vital to the continued growth and success of the athletics programs in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference, the NCAA, and supports the student-athletes in their quest to maximize their abilities in the classroom and in competition.  

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Three years of experience as a collegiate Softball coach
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to effectively coaching student athletes of diverse social identities and backgrounds
  • First aid/CPR certification, or commitment to obtaining this certification within three months of beginning employment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules related to recruiting, eligibility, and financial aid
  • Head coaching experience at the collegiate level
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to strong collaboration with colleagues in the Athletics Department and throughout the University
Salary Commensurate with qualifications and experience
