About the Department Enterprise Infrastructure Services enables the Western Campus Community to connect to services, clouds, and each other. We are a team focused on delivering the technologies that make the core of Western's learning & teaching mission possible. EIS's portfolio includes internet, Voice, TV, computing, storage, cloud and identity integration, wired and wireless connectivity, and information security.
About the Position

You will help Enterprise IT at Western move our Microsoft infrastructure forward. We want your knowledge and experience to improve what we have now; and with the team create a new Microsoft ecosystem. We are looking for you to join our team so that together we can make the services we provide, on premise and in the cloud, to be the best for our students, faculty and staff.

The primary purpose of this position is as follows:
  • To provide campus-wide operating system-level services on both physical and virtualized systems, and to manage the life-cycle of those systems, including analysis, installation, monitoring and upgrades; with a primary focus on Microsoft Windows and software such as SQL Server, SharePoint, Skype for Business and Exchange.
  • To provide primary support on Microsoft Office 365 and Azure Cloud Services
  • To design, test and implement Microsoft technologies in support of those systems and others in the University infrastructure.
  • To provide last-line support for all Microsoft services provided on a University-wide basis
  • To provide creative recommendations for technical improvements and identify new computing technologies to the Enterprise Infrastructure Systems Director.
Required Qualifications
  • A completed Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field, or significant, relevant experience beyond minimum stated below.
  • At least six (6) years full time progressive experience in an Information Technology Systems position (two years working half time will be considered as one year of full time experience).
  • Technical customer service or support experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to a work environment that is equitable and inclusive for all colleagues.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and concisely when writing, speaking and in group settings, and with a variety of campus clients.
  • Extensive knowledge of server, server operating systems, virtualization and their relevant environment.
  • Experience with systematic, programmatical and holistic system management philosophies.
  • At least four (4) years full time experience, or appropriate certification with Windows Server.
  • At least three (3) years full time experience, or appropriate certification with PowerShell.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least two (2) years full time experience, or appropriate certification with SQL Server
  • At least two (2) years full time experience, or appropriate certification with IIS
Salary $72,041- $92,052
