About the Position

As our Event and Logistics Liaison, you will report to the Assistant Secretary of the Board of Trustees and provide leadership and expertise in the planning, coordination and facilitation of a variety of meetings, programs, events, and leadership retreats hosted and/or facilitated by the offices.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Primary Event, Meeting, and Program Liaison with Campus Stakeholders
    • Serve as on-site team leader and point of contact for all event, meeting, and program activities for the President's Office
    • Serve as a liaison between the President's Office and the Special Events Office of the WWU Foundation
  • Maintain and Update the President's Office Website
    • Maintain websites related to meetings, programs, and events including but not limited to: Presidential Scholars, University Wide awards
    • Maintain websites with the President's Cabinet roster and the university organizational chart
  • Create and Monitor Qualtrics Surveys
    • Facilitate result distribution to awards committees
  • Other Duties as Assigned
    • Assist with Commencement activities
    • Serve as the President's Office Employee Recognition Ceremony committee representative
    • Provide back-up for the President's and Provost's Office Reception Desk
    • Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of three years of experience planning and directing events or programs for large groups
  • Ability to collaboratively strategize, plan, direct and lead large meeting and event activities
  • Experience serving as an event manager and leader of event staff
  • Demonstrated experience in creating, coordinating and completing an event production schedule, including meeting simultaneous deadlines and multi-tasking priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with individuals with diverse backgrounds and all members of the campus community
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule with occasional evening and weekend assignments
  • Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency with enterprise-wide database and collaboration software (Smartsheet, Qualtrics)
  • Proficiency with webpage software (Drupal, Wordpress)
  • Event experience in a higher education environment
Salary Commensurate with experience and qualifications
