Position Title Ross Distinguished Visiting Professorship of Canada - U.S. Business and Economic Relations
About the University Western Washington University, with over 15,000 students in seven colleges and the graduate school, is nationally recognized for its educational programs, students and faculty. About the Department The College of Business and Economics is considered a leadership unit within Western Washington University.  The College is AACSB accredited at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and has more than 65 full-time faculty.  The College grants an MBA degree along with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Business Administration, Accounting, Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management, and Economics.  The College and the Department of Management support Western's mission to bring together individuals of diverse backgrounds and perspectives in an inclusive, student-centered university that develops the potential of learners and the well-being of communities.  We welcome applications from diverse candidates interested in this position.
About the Position The successful candidate will be expected to engage actively in teaching and scholarly activity on business and economic relations between Canada and the United States.  In that regard, the candidate will be expected to teach one course per quarter of residency.  The holder of the Ross Professorship will be expected to play an important role in communicating knowledge on Canada-U.S. affairs to audiences within and beyond the University.  Research support and funding are available and compensation and scope of assignment are negotiable. 
Required Qualifications
  • Substantial knowledge of Canada-U.S. business and economic relations
  • Doctoral degree or senior-level experience in government, business or a research organization
  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong publication record or record of significant professional accomplishment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working effectively with diverse students, staff and faculty
  • Demonstrated ability to teach at the University level
  • Willingness to participate in community and outreach programs related to international economic issues
Salary Commensurate with experience and qualifications
