The OELP also provides job-related skill building and community networking opportunities for students. The purpose is to maintain professionalism on all aspects of outreach, as well as providing the ESC with optimal strategies in advertising and communicating towards the broader public by bringing in new and innovative tools the center can utilize.

The ESC Office Assistants primarily support the administrative functions of the office by providing receptionist and clerical duties. Each assistant is to support the center by: being the first contact for anyone coming in the ESC, scheduling meetings, communicating with staff members, and working on clerical assignments as assigned by ESC Professional Staff.

The ESC Cultural Education Coordinator outreaches to and educates the campus community on diverse issues and identities. They are responsible for facilitating the programming of Ethnic Student Center (ESC) general events and providing ESC club academic support. The position also provides programming for the Associated Students and facilitates events, offices and groups throughout the Western and Bellingham community.
